Believe it or not, America – the land of plenty – is also home to millions fo people that struggle to get adequate nutrition each day. (For the record, lack of “adequate nutrition” does not mean too many hamburgers & too few vegetables. Rather, it means an inability to afford basic food necessities). According to Feeding America’s most recent extensive study, 1 in 6 Americans are “food insecure” – they don’t know how they will get their next meal.
Feeding America combats this problem by coordinating a vast network of local & national food retailers, farms, and manufacturers with corporate, foundation, and individual donors in order to provide food & funding to 202 local member food banks. The need is great, and we are pleased to help connect coffee consumption to this noble cause.
